Hurricane and tropical storm damage to Miami seawalls usually shows up in three categories. Our scope of work addresses each.
Storm surge above the cap pushes water both ways through joints and over the top. Soil is flushed out behind the wall, leaving voids. Repair typically combines polyurethane foam injection with joint sealing and, where rotation has started, helical pile anchoring.
Wave loading on the water side can crack caps, displace panels, and break exposed tieback rods. Repair includes structural assessment, panel replacement where required, cap restoration, and re-anchoring.
Floating debris and broken-loose vessels can puncture vinyl panels and crack concrete. Repair is localized panel or section replacement.
Where a wall is actively failing post-storm, emergency stabilization can begin within 24 to 48 hours: polyurethane injection to halt soil loss, temporary tieback rigging, riprap dumping for toe support. Permanent repair is planned around permitting.

Coverage varies by carrier and policy. Standard Florida homeowners policies often exclude seawalls or limit coverage. Hurricane-specific coverage, flood policies, and umbrella policies sometimes apply.
